Fonterra sponsor the Conservation Volunteers to assist with projects in the Waituna Catchment.

The WLG are most appreciative of the work that they have been undertaking at the Gravel Pit, with planting, maintenance of plantings and weed control.

They have also helped with maintenance of the WLG riparian planting sites on three dairy farms in the catchment.

The volunteers come from all over the world, with the recent team coming from Germany, England, Korea and USA.

They are ably lead by the Conservation Volunteer Team Leader, Bruce Eade. The WLG are also grateful to DOC who organise the Conservation Volunteers time in the catchment.
